Description

This Asian-Style Ground Beef Spaghetti is a delightful fusion dish that combines bold flavors with comforting textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 225g spaghetti
  • 250g ground beef
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoons chili oil (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Salt, for pasta water
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Begin the cooking process by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, reserving 1/4 cup of the pasta water before draining.
  2. Next, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add neutral oil, and brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Lower heat, add minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in soy sauce, chili oil, brown sugar, and rice vinegar into the skillet, stirring to combine and simmering for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing until coated in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  6. Turn off the heat, drizzle sesame oil, fold in chopped green onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot.
