- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 10 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
- ¾ cup finely grated Parmesan
- ½ cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (or ½ tsp dried)
- 8 oz cream cheese
- ¼ cup dry white wine (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- 2 large eggs, divided
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter; sauté onion for 5 minutes. Add garlic and mushrooms, cook for 8 minutes.
- Add thyme, salt, pepper, and wine. Allow liquid to reduce completely.
- Add cream cheese and Parmesan. Mix until smooth and fold in Gruyère and a beaten egg.
- Prepare pastry: cut strips along edges and spread filling in the center. Braid strips over filling.
- Transfer to baking tray, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 20-22 minutes.
- Cool for 10 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve.
Notes
Thaw puff pastry as per instructions for best results.
