Description
This dish is perfect for casual gatherings, parties, or even a cozy night at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can refrigerated flaky biscuit dough
- 0.5 cup cooked shrimp, finely chopped
- 0.5 cup cooked lump crab meat
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or cream cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped cooked shrimp, lump crab meat, shredded cheese, and mayonnaise or cream cheese. Add garlic powder, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix everything together thoroughly until you achieve a well-blended creamy seafood filling that oozes flavor.
- Remove the refrigerated biscuit dough from the canister and separate it into individual rounds. On a clean, flat surface, flatten each biscuit round to about 4 to 5 inches in diameter using your fingers or a rolling pin. Prepare to add the seafood filling by placing 1 to 2 tablespoons of the mixture in the center of each flattened biscuit round.
- Carefully fold the edges of the biscuit over the filling to enclose it completely, then pinch the edges together to seal each filled biscuit pocket. This ensures that the delicious filling stays inside during baking, creating a delightful pocket of flavor.
- Arrange the stuffed biscuits, seam-side down, on the prepared baking sheet. To create a glossy, appetizing crust, brush the tops of each biscuit with melted butter. Then, place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.
- Once baked, allow the biscuits to cool for a few minutes before serving. This gives the filling a chance to set and prevents anyone from getting burned by the molten cheese. Serve warm, and consider offering a selection of dipping sauces such as spicy aioli, garlic butter, or marinara sauce to elevate the flavor experience.
Notes
Leftover biscuit melts can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
