Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 pounds beef ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ribs by removing the thin membrane and rinsing under cold water. Pat dry.
  2. Mix apple butter, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper into a sauce.
  3. Rub the sauce over the ribs.
  4. Place ribs in slow cooker and pour remaining sauce over them.
  5. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  6. Remove ribs, place on a foil-lined baking sheet.
  7. Broil with additional apple butter sauce for 5-7 minutes.
  8. Let rest and serve with extra sauce.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness by altering brown sugar amounts to taste.
