Description

Slow Cooker Chicken Korma is a flavorful Indian dish that’s easy to make and perfect for cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

Instructions

  1. Start by combining the Greek yogurt, garam masala, cumin, coriander, curry powder, turmeric, chili powder, and lemon zest in a mixing bowl. Coat your chicken pieces thoroughly and allow to marinate.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add oil. Once hot, sear the chicken pieces until golden-brown.
  3. Add diced onion, garlic, and ginger to the skillet and sauté until golden.
  4. Stir in the tomato paste and coconut milk, mixing until smooth.
  5. Place browned chicken back in the slow cooker, cover, and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  6. Serve garnished with cilantro, almonds, or yogurt, paired with basmati rice or naan.

Notes

Marination enhances flavor; let dish cool after cooking to deepen flavors.
