Description
A burst of flavor!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tsp chopped parsley
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp chopped fresh jalapeño (adjust to taste)
- 2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 large jar (46 oz) plain dill pickles
Instructions
- Begin by draining the pickle juice from the large jar of dill pickles. This juice will not be used in the recipe, so you can set it aside or discard it as you prefer. Once drained, take each pickle and slice them into rounds, aiming for ¼ to ½ inch thickness. Maintain a consistent size for even marinating.
- In the jar, start creating delicious layers by placing 1½ cups of the sliced pickles at the bottom. Sprinkle in ½ cup of sugar, followed by 2 cloves of minced garlic, a ½ tsp of red pepper flakes, and a ½ tsp of chopped jalapeño. Use a spoon to gently spread the garlic and peppers across the surface of the pickles.
- Cover your layered jar with a lid or plastic wrap to keep everything contained. Allow the jar to rest at room temperature for one hour.
- After the initial hour has passed, allow your pickles to sit on the counter for several more hours or ideally overnight.
- Once the pickles have marinated, give them another stir to ensure that all the flavors are evenly distributed. Finally, place the jar in the refrigerator and let it chill for 1 to 2 days before serving.
Notes
Make sure all your ingredients are fresh, especially the jalapeño and garlic, as freshness greatly enhances flavors.
