- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature or softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups Valentine M&Ms
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Using an electric mixer, combine the room temperature butter with both the granulated and brown sugars in a large mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed until the mixture becomes light and fluffy — roughly 2-3 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour until fully combined. Gradually add this mixture to your wet ingredients.
- Once your dough is ready, gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and the Valentine M&Ms.
- Scoop the dough into your prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
- Place the pan in your preheated oven and bake for 20 to 35 minutes. Check the bars periodically.
