Description

Looking for an elegant and mouthwatering appetizer that will impress your holiday guests? Look no further than this Warm Brie with Roasted Holiday Fruits!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel of Brie cheese (810 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • ½ cup of fresh, tart cranberries
  • 1 small pear, thinly sliced
  • 1 small apple, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of golden honey (plus more for drizzling)
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped pecans or walnuts, for a nutty crunch
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs, for a festive touch
  • Crusty bread slices or crackers, for pairing

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a medium mixing bowl, combine fresh cranberries, thinly sliced pear, and apple. Add the golden honey, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and your choice of chopped nuts. Toss all the ingredients until everything is well-coated with the sweet and fragrant mixture.
  2. Once your fruits are prepped and seasoned, spread them across a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap. Roast in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, stirring the mixture halfway through to promote even cooking.
  3. While the fruits are roasting, place the Brie wheel into an oven-safe dish or a small skillet. Drizzle the top of the Brie with olive oil, and bake in the oven alongside the fruits for about 8–10 minutes.
  4. Once the Brie is perfectly baked and fruits are caramelized, carefully transfer the warm Brie to a serving platter. Spoon the roasted fruit over the top and drizzle with additional honey.
  5. To add a festive touch, place fresh rosemary sprigs around the Brie. Serve immediately with crusty bread or crackers.

Notes

This dish is not only visually stunning but also unbelievably simple to prepare. Variations can include adding prosciutto or different spices for an elevated flavor profile.
