Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl Muffins are a delightful mix of flavor and texture that makes them a must-try for any muffin lover.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk (or milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter for richer flavor)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional but recommended for added richness)

Instructions

  1. Kick off your baking adventure by preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Whisk these dry ingredients together until they’re fully blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gently pour the wet mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and fold until just combined.
  6. Scoop the batter into each muffin cup, adding dollops of creamy peanut butter on top. Swirl the peanut butter into the batter.
  7. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before transferring to a wire rack.
