Description

Baked Pears with Berries, Honey, Walnuts & Blue Cheese is a recipe that combines sophistication and simplicity

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • Fresh thyme sprigs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: The first step is to get your oven preheated to a warm 350°F (175°C). This ensures your pears will bake perfectly, turning them into a soft, delicious treat.
  2. Prep the Pears: Take your ripe pears and cut them in half, making sure to remove the core. Place each pear half cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Using a brush, gently coat the tops of the pears with melted butter.
  3. Bake the Pears: Once the pears are prepared, put the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake the pears for about 15 to 20 minutes, keeping an eye on them.
  4. Add Toppings: After your pears have cooled a bit, it’s time to layer on the toppings. Start by spooning your mixed berries generously over each halved pear.
  5. Garnish & Serve: If you’ve chosen to use thyme, add a few fresh sprigs on top as a garnish for a pop of color and aroma.

Notes

Choose ripe pears that are still firm to the touch for the best outcome—overripe pears may become mushy.
