Ingredients

- 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 3/4 cup dark or milk chocolate chips, regular or mini
- 2 Tbsp butter for greasing
Instructions
- Begin your cooking journey by sifting together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar into a large mixing bowl. Once these dry ingredients are well mixed, gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- In a separate medium-sized bowl, whisk together the large egg, vanilla extract, whole milk, and melted unsalted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and gently whisk until everything is just combined.
- Heat your large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and grease it with about 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Using a measuring cup, pour the batter onto the skillet and cook until bubbles form, then flip and cook until golden brown fully cooked through.
Notes
Make sure not to overmix the batter for fluffy pancakes!
