Description
These homemade seeded bread rolls are fluffy, soft, and perfect for any meal, infused with a delightful mix of seeds.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
- 2 and 1/4 teaspoons instant dry yeast (one standard packet)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water (about 105-115°F)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (plus more for greasing)
- 1/4 cup mixed seeds (such as sunflower, poppy, sesame, pumpkin)
- 1 tablespoon water (for brushing)
Instructions
- Begin the process by combining the warm water and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl. Once the sugar dissolves, gently sprinkle the instant dry yeast over the mixture. Allow it to rest undisturbed for about 5 minutes.
- Once your yeast has risen, add the all-purpose flour and salt into the bowl. Pour in the vegetable oil, and use a wooden spoon or spatula to mix the ingredients until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough with your hands for about 7-10 minutes, folding it over and pushing it away from you until a smooth and elastic dough forms.
- Lightly grease a bowl with vegetable oil and place your dough inside, turning it once to coat. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest in a warm environment for about 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Once your dough has risen beautifully, gently punch it down and divide it into 8-10 equal portions. Shape each piece into a smooth roll.
- Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, place the shaped rolls, and let them rise for an additional 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the tops of each roll with water for better seed adhesion.
- Sprinkle the mixed seeds generously on top of the rolls and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For optimal results, ensure your oven is preheated fully before placing the rolls inside.
