Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 large Egg
- 1/2 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 8 ounces Mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
- 2 cups Beef Broth
- 1 teaspoon Fresh Thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by heating a large skillet over medium heat and drizzling in the olive oil.
- In a mixing bowl, gather the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, finely chopped onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Combine the mixture gently until all ingredients are just integrated. Form into four oval-shaped patties.
- Place the patties in the preheated skillet. Sear for about four minutes on each side, or until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add butter and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté until golden brown. Sprinkle in flour, stir, and then gradually whisk in beef broth. Simmer until thickened, about 5-10 minutes.
- Return the patties to the skillet. Spoon gravy over each patty. Cover and let simmer on low for about 10-15 minutes.
Notes
Ensure your beef is fresh and not overcooked during the searing stage to keep it juicy.
