This Easy Garlic Shrimp Pasta is a delightful weeknight dinner that is quick to prepare and packed with flavors!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb shrimp, large, peeled and deveined
- 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 cup reserved pasta water (as needed)
Instructions
- To get started, first pat the shrimp dry using paper towels. Season the shrimp generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil, and add the spaghetti or linguine. Cook according to the package instructions until the pasta is al dente.
- While the pasta cooks, heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil and butter. Once melted, toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer to the skillet. Cook for about 1.5 to 2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, pour in the lemon juice and zest, followed by the red pepper flakes. Simmer for about 1 minute.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing it in the lemon-garlic sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
- Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet, tossing gently to reheat and combine. Adjust seasoning as desired.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, if using, and serve immediately!
Notes
