Description
These chewy, zesty treats are not only a feast for your taste buds but also offer a plethora of health benefits.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3/4 cup cold water
- 5 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
- 1/2 cup strong green tea (brewed with 4 tea bags)
- 1/3 cup ginger juice
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- Honey (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- Start by pouring 3/4 cup of cold water into a medium-sized saucepan. Carefully sprinkle the 5 tablespoons of unflavored gelatin powder over the water, ensuring it is evenly distributed across the surface. Allow it to sit undisturbed for about 5 to 10 minutes.
- While the gelatin is blooming, brew your green tea. Heat some water to a near boil and steep 4 green tea bags for 3 to 5 minutes. This will produce a strong flavor, and you will want to measure out 1/2 cup of this brewed tea for later use.
- Once your gelatin has bloomed, pour the brewed green tea, 1/3 cup of ginger juice, and 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice into the saucepan with the gelatin mixture. Turn the heat to low, and gently stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved.
- If you prefer a sweeter taste, stir in honey to your desired sweetness level.
- Once the mixture is well mixed and sweetened to your liking, carefully pour it into silicone molds or a lined dish. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- After the chews have fully set, remove them from the molds or dish. If you used a dish, slice them into small, bite-sized pieces.
Notes
These chews can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, though they are best enjoyed within the first week.
