Homemade Peppermint Patties

  • Author: Alioui
  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 24 servings 1x

Description

A delightful treat combining the cool flavor of peppermint with rich chocolate coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups dark or semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by placing 3 cups of powdered sugar in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle in a pinch of salt. Gradually add in 1/3 cup of sweetened condensed milk. Use a spatula to combine until the mixture becomes a thick, sugary dough.
  2. Add in 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir until you achieve a smooth and uniform mixture. Adjust consistency with powdered sugar if needed.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a lightly sugared surface. Knead gently for a minute or two until it is soft yet manageable.
  4. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Cut out discs using a cookie cutter or glass, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Chill the patties in the fridge for 30-45 minutes until firm.
  6. Melt your chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler. Stir frequently to avoid burning. Add coconut oil for a better consistency if desired.
  7. Dip each firm patty into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off, then place back on parchment paper.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle colorful sprinkles on top for a festive touch and let the chocolate harden.
