Description
Irresistible savory biscuits filled with crab and cheddar, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix (plus ingredients required on package)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup lump crab meat
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard (yellow or Dijon)
- 6 Ritz crackers, crushed
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Biscuit Dough: Start by following the instructions included in your Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix package to prepare the biscuit dough. As you mix, add the garlic powder and Italian seasoning, ensuring an even distribution throughout the dough.
- Prep the Muffin Tins: While your dough is coming together, preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Once heated, grab your two greased muffin tins and set them aside.
- Create the Crab Filling: In a separate bowl, combine the lump crab meat, paprika, onion powder, mayonnaise, mustard, crushed Ritz crackers, and grated parmesan cheese. Gently mix these ingredients together.
- Shape the Biscuits: Dust your hands with flour. Take a golf ball-sized piece of biscuit dough, flatten it into a disc and create a shallow well in the center. Spoon enough crab mixture into this well and then seal it.
- Bake to Perfection: Place the stuffed biscuits seam side down in the greased muffin tins. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
- Add the Finishing Touches: Brush with melted butter and lemon juice as soon as they come out. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
Ensure the crab meat is fresh. You can prepare the crab filling a few hours in advance; just store it in the refrigerator.
