Description

One Skillet Lemon Dijon Chicken is a delightful dinner that combines simplicity with rich flavors, offering a quick yet satisfying dish made in one pan.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 lemon, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by patting the chicken breasts dry using paper towels. Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and dried thyme.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. When the butter melts, add the seasoned chicken breasts. Sear for 5 to 6 minutes until golden brown. Remove chicken from skillet.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  4. Add heavy cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, lemon zest, honey, and optional crushed red pepper flakes. Whisk to combine and let simmer for 3 to 5 minutes.
  5. Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer for another 5 to 7 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Stir in remaining tablespoon of butter and garnish with parsley and lemon slices before serving.
