Description

Miso Steak with Noodle Salad is a delightful meal that combines perfectly seared steak marinated in a savory-sweet miso glaze with a bright soba noodle salad loaded with crisp vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300g sirloin steak
  • 2 tbsp white miso paste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 150g soba noodles
  • ½ cucumber, julienned
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • ½ cup red cabbage, shredded
  • 2 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak with a mixture of miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook soba noodles in boiling water for 5-7 minutes, then drain and rinse under cold water.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cooled soba noodles with cucumber, carrot, red cabbage, and spring onions; toss with reserved marinade.
  4. Sear the marinated steak in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked to your liking, then let it rest before slicing.
  5. Serve sliced steak over noodle salad, garnished with sesame seeds.

Notes

Experiment with different proteins and vegetables as variations. To enhance flavor, let the steak marinate longer.
